About Sunstate WaterSports (Sunstate Hobie) Queensland Hobie Dealer located in the Brisbane suburb of Morningside and carry a wide range of water sports products and accessories. You can shop in store or online. Sunstate Hobie was first established as Sunshine Coast Hobie Cat in 1991, this family owned and operated business has always specialised in Hobie products. More recently, kayaking, kayak fishing kayak sailing and stand up paddling have become very popular and the Hobie Cat Company have worked hard to become market leaders in these fields, providing us with tremendous products that are constantly evolving to keep Hobie at the top of the ladder.
20 Plus Years
In its twentieth year, Sunstate Hobie expanded expanded its operation into the heart of Brisbane. Located in the Rivergate Marina under the Gateway Bridge, it is central to Brisbane and easy to find. Open Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm and Saturday 9am til 3pm for those who can’t get away on weekdays. The original owners Mal and Trish have since retired passing the business on to a couple of very experienced Hobie people Gordon and Lindi Mcgillray. Gordon has been working for Hobie Australasia for the past 12 years and previous to that they owned their own Hobie business for 9 years in South Africa.
New Name
To reflect the expansion of the business Sunstate Hobie has changed its name to Sunstate WaterSports & we have a Brand New Brisbane Kayak & Sailing Show Room In order to accommodate our extensive range of Brisbane Kayaks Sunstate Water Sports, formerly Sunstate Hobie, have relocated just down the road to our new Morningside Brisbane Kayak Showroom.Here you will find everything from the full range of Hobie and FishYak Kayaks to Kayak Fishing Accessories, Hobie Cats and Spare Parts plus Hobie Sup’s and the Eclipse Range of Stand Up Paddle Boards.
